about the conference
Our 2024 conference, “Embodied Faith: Christian Students Organizing for a New World,” seeks to equip students and young adults with the tools and confidence to participate in movements for social change. Christians have a particular responsibility to work for liberation, justice, and peace as we remain grounded in our prophetic Biblical and theological traditions. Join us in Washington, D.C., October 3-6, for community building, learning, and worship under the guidance of 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. As we are each a part of Christ’s one body, we each have a role to play in creating a new world for all people. Empire desires division and isolation. We believe God has other plans. Let us resist together, as one body.
During the conference, we will explore social change ecosystems, creative expression as resistance, history of student movements, and more. We will practice embodying our faith through art, music, discussion, and organizing ourselves as a network of young Christians. Small group reflections, workshops, shared meals, and worship will all provide ways for students and young adults to examine their role in social movements as individuals and as a collective body of people following the revolutionary way of Jesus.

“Life as a progressive Christian can get lonely sometimes, but WSCF showed me that there’s lots of folks like me out there who are deeply invested in truth-and-justice Christianity, in centering disempowered voices — in truly ‘being the church’ when the institutional church doesn’t seem to remember what that means. I formed long-lasting friendships through WSCF, and I am so thankful for the community it fosters.”
